Meet Our Executive Director Scott Herceg
Executive Director, Scott Herceg.
Scott is a Michigan native, growing up in near-by Traverse City. He attended Michigan State University and graduated from Spring Arbor University through Northwestern Michigan College's University Center where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management and Organizational Development.
His position with the HSACC is not Scott's first position here in Northern Michigan. From 2003-2007 Scott lived and worked across the bay in Petoskey where he held the position of District Executive with the Scenic Trails Council of Boy Scouts of America. During that time, Scott graduated the Leadership Little Traverse Program, a joint HSACC/PRCC course.
Scott comes to Harbor Springs from Vincennes, Indiana where he was a Senior District Executive for the Buffalo Trace Council of Boy Scouts of America. He also boasts an extensive nine-year hospitality career.
Prior to his work with the BSA, Scott was an integral part of the management staff that opened both Marriott properties located in Traverse City. He also held management positions at the Park Place Hotel and Bayshore Resort, both in Traverse City.
A history buff, Scott spent a summer, during college, working for the Mackinac State Historic Parks on Mackinac Island as an Historical Interpreter, in Fort Mackinac. While living in Vincennes, Scott also served on the organizing committee for the Spirit of Vincennes Rendezvous, which is an historic event/festival held each year at the George Rogers Clark National Historic Park.
Scott is happy to be relocated here in Harbor Springs where he lives with his dog, a Lab-Sheppard mix named Lucy. .
