Welcome to the Harbor Springs Area Historical Society
The mission of the Harbor Springs Area Historical Society (HSAHS) is to connect learning about the past with appreciating the present by preserving our histories and traditions thereby deepening our shared connection to this special place.

The Harbor Springs Area Historical Society was founded in 1990 as a volunteer organization dedicated to preserving the history of the Harbor Springs area. In keeping with its purpose, HSAHS volunteers organize events and activities which promote the preservation and protection of the area’s past in order to ensure a legacy for the future.

• Operates the Harbor Springs History Museum in the former city hall building
• Presents year-round Harbor History Talks
• Provides educational programs and tours for school groups
• Publishes a quarterly newsletter which features historical topics of interest
• Sponsors an oral history program
• Organizes special history-themed events throughout the year
