About Us

Jeff Shepard and David Clarke began their partnership in 2000 and opened for business in June of that year. Jeff is a retired Neurologist with a life long interest and considerable aptitude in the building business.
David is a 30+ year veteran craftsman with experience in masonary, carpentry ,drywall and painting, as well as finish carpentry and cabinetmaking. We each have our own skill sets which add to the success of this business. We also share a common interest in skiing and that is how we arrived at the name for our company. Kandahar is the name for 1) one of the original cable ski bindings, 2) a world class downhill ski run at in Austria and 3) the name of an old ski lodge here in Northern Michigan .
?One of the things we have been committed to from the start, is a personal, hands on involvement with our projects. For many of our projects we provide most of the labor. From the foundations to the last coat of paint we really do build the house.
