2nd Annual Harbor Springs Waterfront Wine Festival

Downtown Harbor Springs, a place where blue skies and pristine waters converge to create one of the most picturesque settings in the Midwest, will serve as the perfect backdrop for the 1st annual Harbor Springs Waterfront Wine Festival on Friday evening, June 15, 2007 from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M.

The festival is the unique collaboration of Scenic Michigan and the Harbor Springs Chamber of Commerce; two organizations deeply committed to maintaining the scenic beauty and integrity of the immediate area and well beyond.

"For several years it has been suggested that some type of event be created to bring members of the full, part-time and visiting communities together before the busy summer season begins," said HSCC Executive Director Kathy Lott. Lott continued "I am delighted to partner with Scenic Michigan to achieve that goal."

Scenic Michigan Program Director Abby Dart added "The idea of a quality Wine and Food Festival is a natural for Harbor Springs which is know world-wide for its unique character. From outstanding wines, beers, and malternatives, to delicious food samplings from area restaurants to ongoing performances by the Harbor Springs High School Jazz Band, we are confident there will be something for everyone throughout the evening," said Dart.

Domestic wines from Suttons Bay, Washington state and California will compliment international selections from France, Italy and South Africa. Similarly, breweries from Wisconsin, Jamaica, Belgium and Holland will be represented.

The event will be held on the downtown Harbor Springs waterfront adjacent to the tennis courts and anyone 21 years of age or older is invited to attend. The cost is $15.00, which will include samplings of two drinks and one food; additional tickets may be purchased for $2.00 a piece. Ticket sales will begin the evening of the event beginning at 5:30 P.M. This year there will be no advanced ticket sales.

Participating Wineries/Distributors:

  • Black Star Farms Wineries - Sutton’s Bay, Michigan
