DESCRIPTION:Discover the visual strength and original beauty of the works by area artists\, each with a moving personal story\, many from very different backgrounds. This exhibition surprises and challenges museum goers\, forces examination of the conventional definition of the word "artist\," and shows that good art is good art regardless of the maker's r sum . The Crooked Tree Kitchen Painters began in 1981 with a small group of artists who met weekly to paint. They valued the rapport and sharing of ideas that occurs when artists gather. Crooked Tree Arts Center welcomed the group and encouraged their work\, allowing them to meet in the Crooked Tree kitchen thus the name "Kitchen Painters". Come be amazed and inspired by the works of our very own "Crooked Tree Kitchen Painters". Exhibit Opening: Thursday\, June 16 from 6:00 -8:00 PM as part of Downtown Petoskey's Gallery Walk
