This is the third in a series of three Eating for Others events sponsored by Wineguys Restaurant Group.\n\nWednesday\, May 17 | Roast & Toast\n\n(downtown and McLaren Medical Building)\n\nOrganization: Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council\n\nNorthern Michigan contains some of the most important\, diverse and pristine water resources on earth. Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council protects these waters   Great Lakes\, inland lakes\, rivers\, streams\, wetlands\, and ground water   for future generations to enjoy their unspoiled character. Since 1979\, the Watershed Council has protected the water resources of Antrim\, Charlevoix\, Cheboygan and Emmet Counties. Supported by members of full-time and seasonal residents\, lake associations and businesses\, the Watershed Council focus is on environmental integrity and economic and aesthetic values of water resources.\n\n"The entire Wineguys restaurant family is keenly aware of our fortunate geographic locale\," explains Ben Walker\, Roast & Toast Partner and General Manager. "We work diligently to reduce our carbon footprint and to support organizations that improve the environment." Wineguys as a whole\, for example\, has shifted to post-consumer and recyclable take-out containers at each restaurant. Palette Bistro eliminated plastic straws several years ago. And\, each restaurant embraces extensive recycling and composting practices.\n\n"We are all\, especially restaurants\, huge water consumers. We brew our coffee with it. We serve fish from our lakes and streams. We swim and boat.
