SUMMARY:The Art of Wellbeing: Exhibit & Public Programming
DESCRIPTION:This fall in Petoskey\, we are proud to present The Art of Wellbeing including two powerful exhibitions that will be on view from September 19 through November 1: Process and Practice: Crafting Wellbeing and Vibrant Matter: Engaging Energies. The first is a juried exhibition of works that explore the healing power of art by artists in the Great Lakes region\, and the latter is an invitational exhibition exploring the healing power of caring for our environment. Inspired by the groundbreaking research in Your Brain on Art: How the Arts Transform Us by Ivy Ross and Susan Magsamen\, the exhibitions and programs will feature artworks and opportunities designed to cultivate wellbeing and connection. Featuring immersive public programming by regionally celebrated and nationally recognized artists\, The Art of Wellbeing will include meditative drawing\, slow looking (a tool to deepen connections with artwork)\, sound healing\, and movement-based experiences offering people of all ages meaningful ways to explore the healing power of the arts.
