Chalk the Walk - Petoskey

Crooked Tree Arts Center and Top of Michigan Trails Council present Chalk the Walk as part of Petoskey’s Festival on the Bay. The sidewalks down by Little Traverse Wheelway near Bayfront Park are the target of artists for this 6th annual chalk art celebration. CALL FOR ARTISTS This year, 20 artists age 16 and up will be selected as featured artists, and each featured artist will receive a $100 stipend. They will then compete for a $500 people’s choice award. Interested in being a featured artist? Click here for application details. The deadline to apply is August 15. JUNIOR DIVISION AND WALK-UPS Artists under the age of 16 are welcome to register on-site. The entry fee is $10. Each junior division artist will receive a box of chalk, and three $50 prizes will be awarded. Junior division artists are also eligible for the $500 People’s Choice award. Artists 16 and up are also welcome to walk up and register on site. The entry fee is $10. Adult division walk-ups are eligible for the $500 People’s Choice award. FOR FAMILIES AND SPECTATORS As always, there will be a free doodle area for kids and families. Spectators are invited to watch the artists in action, and cast their ballot for the $500 people’s choice award! Crooked Tree will also hold a Chalk the Walk event in Traverse City, on Friday, August 26.
