About Us

The Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra (GLCO) is the premier professional orchestra in our region and has been enriching the lives of Northern Michigan communities for the past 23 seasons. Our mission is to inspire, entertain and educate through live, professional, community-connected orchestral programming.

Mainstage concerts, under the baton of Maestro Libor Ondras, offer diverse programming featuring world-class artists, orchestral masterpieces, wonderful local talent, and inspiring works addressing important social issues. Our free Sunday Series recitals and outdoor summer concerts make these musical experiences accessible to everyone. Many education programs for all ages include Legends and Mysteries for school aged students and Little Waves series for young children offered through Charlevoix and Petoskey libraries. Our annual Young Artist Competition cultivates musicianship skills.

GLCO is a nonprofit organization based in Petoskey, Michigan and is supported through donors, community partners and foundations.
