About Us
The Harbor Springs Area Historical Society (HSAHS) was founded in 1990 by a group of concerned citizens committed to preserving the history of the Harbor Springs area. Soon after its founding, HSAHS achieved 501(c)(3) status as a charitable and educational non-profit organization.
The Harbor Springs Area Historical Society brings local history to life across four unique sites along the Harbor Springs Historical Corridor. Visitors can explore the outdoor exhibits featuring the Aha Boat and Shay Locomotive at Shay Park, the interactive Ephraim Shay Works Museum, the historic Andrew J. Blackbird Museum, and the Harbor Springs History Museum with artifacts and rotating exhibits focused on local history. Open year-round, the Society offers engaging, family-friendly experiences, group tours, and seasonal events that showcase the rich heritage of the Harbor Springs area.Images
