The Grammy-nominated Grand Rapids Symphony gives its first performance in more than a decade in northern lower Michigan. Music Director Marcelo Lehninger, who led the orchestra in a critically-acclaimed return to New York City’s Carnegie Hall in 2018, leads the orchestra in a dynamic concert of music including Bernstein’s Candide Overture, Tchaikovsky’s powerful Symphony No. 4, and George Gershwin’s Concerto in F. Classically trained pianist Aaron Diehl, who served as Music Director for Jazz at Lincoln Center's 2014-15 New Orleans Songbook series, became the youngest ever Monterey Jazz Festival Commission Artist in 2014. Praised by New York Times' jazz critics for his 'melodic precision, harmonic erudition, and elegant restraint," he has collaborated with such jazz greats as Wynton Maralis and Benny Golson and has performed Gershwin with the New York Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra and Los Angeles Philharmonic.
