The Bay View Chamber Brass, conducted by Brian Buerkle, present an exciting program of RUSSIAN BRASS music; including compositions for brass ensemble and quintet by Sergei Prokofiev, Pavel Chesnokov, Anatol Liadov, Sergei Rachmaninoff, & Dmitri Shostakovich. The Spectrum Brass Seminar is in its eighth year at the Bay View Music Festival. Talented students from universities and conservatories all over the United States and abroad attend the Seminar to enrich their knowledge of brass chamber music and ensemble playing; as well as learning from entrepreneurial classes in leadership, orchestral auditioning, arranging, and freelancing in today’s music world. Each year the Seminar presents a number of brass outreach concerts throughout the community to help raise money for the Spectrum Brass Seminar Scholarship Fund. The concert is free and open to the public. All donated proceeds go directly towards scholarships for future students to attend the festival.
