Aptawating “half-way place” also goes by the names of Middle Village or Good Hart. This historic location has been an important place for the Odawa for many centuries. Ancient battles took place here, as well as international councils between the Odawa and French. Aptawating is the middle of Waganakising and many Odawa families have family ties to this special place.
