Rocking with the GLCO Pops featuring Rockapella

On July 19, Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra will accompany Rockapella, one of the world’s most sophisticated, lasting, and imitated vocal groups around today. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more influential group out there in this new era of network television acapella shows like NBC's The Sing-Off, movies like Pitch Perfect, and innumerable college vocal groups that own the corner of cool on campuses everywhere. The Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra will accompany Rockapella on fun and familiar songs like ‘Here Comes the Sun’, ‘Dance with Me’, ‘Rock the Boat’, and ‘The Beat Goes On’, selections sure to appeal to a broad age range and perfect for a summer family outing together. The orchestra will also be performing ‘Danzon No. 2’ by Arturo Marquez and ‘Huapango’ by José Pablo Moncayo.
