The month of December is noted for its festive mood, all wrapped up in the joy of gift giving ~ a mood that is suited to the backdrop of shining stars that dominate the season. The Sun drifts furthest south now, leaving in its wake the brilliant stars of the Winter Sky, spiraling overhead with mystery and promise. Then, the Sun comes to its apparent moment of stand still, the Solstice, as though it would pause to observe the activity of Earth. Join Star Lore Historian Mary Stewart Adams for an evening program on the mysteries of Solstice, and a beautiful candlelight ceremony of celebrating the inner light that comes to birth at this time. $10 Admission
